I'm curious... How many forklifts do people come across on trail rides?

Did it hit the bump stops?

I love how your dawg is always sitting in the passenger seat saying " Hey dude, less working, more wheeling!"

I love that the dog has to be part of anything Jeep related.

Mine is 2.5" lift YJ springs with short shackles. Wondering what you have? Wondering if mine will bump....

I have the same springs but my setup is different. I would think that the tire will hit either the quarter panel or inner fender before the bump stop contacts the axle tube.
Just a thought...... be out here a day or two before the rubicon trip. We can pick your jeep up with the fork lift and fine tune the bump stops.... then you come along on the rubicon to test out bump stops in real life scenarios....... :D

    Continuing with the bump stops......
I made a contact plate that will bolt to the top of the axle tube clamp. A flat head bolt will attach it.

Last year I came to the realization that my aluminum nerf bars/sliders/steps were not the proper material for protection from rocks. The aluminum is .250 wall.... but it is just too soft and actually gets you stuck worse when the rock bites into it. In addition to being the wrong material.... I found the 4" stickout to be a hindrance as they were the widest part of the jeep. I had some steel versions made up that only stick out 3". The angle iron is 3" x 3/16" and the round tube is .120 wall 1-1/2".

    Last years Rubicon carnage

Nice...and i do like the painted black over the natural aluminum. How much 'underlap' does the angle iron have? I think I used 3"x2"x3/16".....

The angle is 3"x3" and bolts through the floor.

Those are really nice. I had your comments from last years trip in the back of my mind when I made aluminum skid plates, hoping I don't regret making them out of aluminum :worry:

Hopefully your not on your skids as much as I beat on my passenger side nerf. More than once I said thanks for the heads up wife.....

One final flex test on the rear bump stops. Everything looks good.
    This is pretty stuffed!

The aluminum plate on my bike has almost thrown me over the handlebars quite a few times. The friction qualities of Al are something else. Maybe spray it with Teflon? :D
