Captive Nut Help

Hey all!

heres a question that has me stumped...

if I want to add a captive nut to replace the body mounts on my tub (underneath, of course) but still want to have some 'play' room.. how would I go about fabbing that? (the factory mounts have SOME play for alignment)

I have an idea that I know will work for a captive nut that stays in place (truly captive), but one that needs to have some wiggle room (a captive with a large cage?) is baffling me..
