toyota leafs to stretch CJ?

    I have what used to be a 66 jeep CJ5. I now have built a 2x4x3/16 frame, and am at the point that I need to decide on what springs to use. I had previously built it with 53-54" S-10 springs at all 4 corners. Now an considering Toyota springs up front to get a better approach angle and a little more stretch. Will be right around 99"WB with some 89-94 toy springs up front and my S-10 leafs in the rear. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are the toy springs tuff enough. I beat the heck out of the s10 springs and never bent them up at all. Seen pictures of the Durango and XJ springs that people have bent, but never any about the Toyota springs. Any help and any actual dimensions of stock or aftermarket toy springs would be awesome. Thanks Zach J

    For what its worth I am building spring sliders to replace all 4 shackles and the front springs will have the slider in the rear instead of up front like stock.

    I don't have anything constructive to help you but im curious as to the S10 setup and your reasons for using those springs over Jeep springs. Are there a lot of modifications that need to be made to use them? how do they ride?

    I'm sure they are looking for a longer spring to help with the articulation...........stock CJ about 43" long whereby the S-10 is 54" The toy is I think 46" front and 48" rear.........full size chevy PU is 63"

    @jonnyc1999, the S10 springs worked great. Great (almost to much) flex. Got way better traction with them then the stock 12 pack (being sarcastic, but really how many leafs do you need?) that came with the jeep. If I remember correctly I had to stretch the frame rails in the front by about 10" and make new perches all the way around and make new shackles. The S10 springs were 54" with an offset center pin. 26" short side and 28" long side. The Yota ones are 22/29-1/4". So that gives me the extra 4"WB and better approach angle in the front. not so worried about it in the rear so sticking with the S10 springs. For sure needed to install an antiwrap bar in the front with the S10 springs and my buick 350.

    Just am update, I ordered the ome cs019R springs for the front of my jeep. Will get some pictures and measurements of them when they show up later this week.
