No, just the wheel bearings and seals. Hoping the pinion and carrier bearings are ok, but I won't know for sure until I run it. The rear is a factory limited slip, so I don't plan on touching it too soon, but the front will be getting a selectable locker at some point, so I'll check the bearings out then.

Got the engine/trans/tcase back in and started adding parts. This is the fun part! New valve covers, air filter, and carb bolted on. Feels great to attach parts that I don't have to remove again:

It's a Regular Holley 4160 600 CFM. I plan on adding the off road needle set as well as a vent tube at some point though.

    Thanks for the compliments everyone

A question to the more experienced:

I was originally on the search for a 1310 yoke for my Dana 30. Upon further inspection, there may be a reason the person I got these parts from went with 1210 yokes on the front end. Clearance is tight with the SM420, and the 1210 joints would be a much better fit. How much strength will I be losing by going this route? I'm going to need custom shafts either way, so cost won't be much different.

I would try and stick with the same size through the truck... Multiple size spares is sucky

That is what I wanted to do, but I am now realizing space is limited. I still have plenty of time before I need driveshafts, so I've got time to rework things if needed. I'll take another look at it tomorrow.

Haven't made much progress on the build lately due to rain and lack of space, but I did pick up another part.

I stumbled across what I consider the deal of the century on a brand spankin' new Tiger Top, with Bows, Hardware, and instructions all in sealed packages.

I paid $250 for it, from a nice gentleman on Craigslist. Merry Christmas to Me! It did take a 2 hour drive to Napa, but I'm still money ahead.

first time looking at this build ...all looks great but I see just 1 concern .I don't want to be a downer and I'm certainly not banging on your rig . the ford towers . I used them for my build too and planted them on the side of the frame but they really hit the tires when twisted up .I ended up back cutting them and sucking them into the frame ALOT and I changed the angle ...they still rub a touch but you might not twist up enough for it to be a real problem. just my .02

Shoot! I didn't even consider that when I placed them. My main concern at the time was steering clearance. I'm going to be running 1.25 inch spacers on this too (not on it now), these are 15x7's with 33x10.50's, but it might still be tight.

Will be doing a lot of playing with the Hi-Lift over the weekend to figure this out. Luckily, the frame is only painted with rustoleum, so If they have to come off, I'm not out a whole lot.

I'm running the Ford front towers on my jeep with 37's with no issue rubbing at any angle. I do have a full width HD44 under there, so if you have a stock width 30, I see the concern. Spacers may be a must.

I will for sure! I've seen first hand the damage these things can do. A friend of mine was using one to lift a heavy trailer, jack fell over and hit him in the face, forced his lower teeth through his lip, not pretty.

I also realized that I could probably use my engine hoist to flex it out, and that seems safer, so I may go that route.

Now, I just need a break in the rain for a few hours so I can roll it out. I need a bigger workshop!
