Springs

Used my springs to line up the mounting bracket on the frame. The new brackets are going back in the same holes. The question is, the shackles are leaning to inside of the Jeep. Looking at pictures of Jeeps on the site, the shackles lean to the outside. Does the lean in the pictures look normal, one picture rear, one front. Once the springs are loaded with the weight of the Jeep they will move out, but how much. The springs are Pro Comps with a 2 or 2 1/2 lift.

 

I would trust they would look more "normal" once the weight of the Jeep is on it. I have BD springs on mine, never checked without a load to see which way they point, but wouldn't be surprised if they looked the same as yours if in the same situation.

 

The correct way to install those is to have the frame flipped over and whatever sprung weight your going carry..............like / motor,trans,seats , people and accessories should all be in the Jeep in its proper position.........Basically the springs should be under a load before you put that mount on and the shackle at that point in time should be angled away from the front or rear axles at about 12 degrees over center......I have 800 lbs of sand bags here at the shop just for that purpose....................once the springs settle they will increase the angle by a few degrees , but starting where your at is doubtful the shackles will ever get to the proper angled position.
