Putting everything back together, mocking everything up, making sure everything fits. Do not want to drill anything after everything is painted

Got a after-market transmission cover and did a twin stick conversion. A lot of drilling and filling to get everything to work.

Got seats fitted, will have to do a little more welding on the passenger seat frame that was adjusted to fit the after market seat.

Been working on several things. Got the new top fit, had problems with the windshield angle. Not happy with the door fit, but will have to deal with it. Half doors are fitted. Started working on the PTO winch, will be easier running the drive shafts with the tub off. Installed the after market heater, tieing one of the heater outlets into the original jeep under dash duct. Will be able to use the heater control to direct heat to the windshield defrosters or the floor.

Here is a link to the Half Doors. On the home page look up on the right, there is a tab for Jeep Products.

Where did you get the aftermarket transmission tunnel cover and firewall access plate? I need those. Thanks.

Nice thread I appreciate the documentation of the floor pans and other stuff. I'm looking to do some similar work soon.

I'm particularly interested in this heater setup. Can you detail it for us.

Was going to do the heater motor upgrade, but after installing the new soft top and seeing the gaps around the doors, I decided to go with a after market heater. Bought a heater from Summit Racing. Since I am restoring the Jeep, I want to keep everything looking original. Mounted the new heater under the dash between the steering column and the emergency brake. Will keep the heater box on the firewall, engine side and run the heater hose though it to the new heater. I used the original plenum and made a adapter to accept a 3 inch hose from the new heater. Will use the original heater control to direct the heat to the floor or to defrost the windshield. The other 3 inch outlet on the new heater is run to a outlet on the passenger side. The new heater has a 3 speed fan and the jeep control is for a 2 speed. Made a bracket to mount the 3 speed fan control up under the dash.

Will your dash gauge clear it?

    Should clear it.

I beleive the early Jeep wagons and trucks (63-68?) used a control for the heater and defrost that had a 3 speed. The units look very similar from the back side.

Had the tub sandblasted again. The first time it was done, I waited to long to prime, had flash rust. Thought I got the rust taken care before I primed, but I did not.

Finished the heater control. Working on the tub, getting it ready for paint.

Wow, those heater controls look great! How did you do the lettering?
