Fuel pump???

OK, so the YJ stopped running. I first think its the fuel pump, since I squirt some starter fluid into the throttle body, and then the engine will run. I replace the fuel pump, filter, and fuel pump sock. Same results, I got no pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. (it's a '92 2.5 ltrt MPFI). So I blow out all the fuel lines with compressed air from the pump to the fuel rail. I check all the electrical wiring going back to the fuel pump, all is good, no breaks in the wiring and good conductivity. I check all the fuel lines, no blockages. I pull the pump again, and check to see if its coming on, and it does. But same issue, it won't run, and no fuel is getting to the fuel rail / injectors.

Next I check the fuel pump as the engine is cranking, while it comes on, there is very little to no pressure coming out of the pump. On the inlet it chould suck my finger in, and it should blow off my finger on the outler. Afterall this thing is supposed to have 45 psi.

So, my guess is the new pump is no good.

I did check the old pump, and it doesn't even come on when the engine cranks, so the old pump is definitely bad.

Anyone voting with me on the new pump being bad also?
    Or am I missing something?

I'm usually apprehensive on blaming new parts, but I'm going to throw my vote with you on this one. It sounds like you have it narrowed down to the fuel pressure. Unless there is a filter before the pump?

nope no filter before the pump, just a sock on the pump, and got a new one of those.

Not yet, picked it up last night, probably won't work on it till Sat or Sun.

Replaced one of the rusted out front shocks tonight, never seen rust so aggressive, heated the nuts up, then the shock body started leaking oil, darn thing nearly rusted away.

Yep, was the fuel pump, put the new one in, and she primed the lines, and fired up with the second turn of the key. Got two more shocks on, the two new headlights, and need to changed out the park plug wires, found a tear in the insulation on two of the wires.
