Has anyone found a dual master cylinder that will bolt directly to the original mounting plate on a CJ2A? I have heard about late 60s or early 70s Commandos but cannot con firm this.

Afaik all the Jeepster Commandos were firewall mounted so they won't bolt right up. At least all the ones I've had and seen. Hopefully someone else can confirm or deny on the early Commandos. I'm not aware of any direct bolt up dual reservoir mc. That's why Herm makes a kit with new bracketry. If you can find the bracketry and mc from a late '67'-'71 CJ they can be made to work.

I have never seen a direct bolt replacement for a flattie. The best option is Herm's kit from what I have seen unless you are moving to swinging pedals.

X2 on the advice above. The '67-'71 CJs had the dual MC under the floor, but the mounting arrangement is all different than the earlier CJs with the single-chamber setup.

The Commando MC uses a 1" bore where the dual-chamber CJ used a 7/8" bore; both have the same sized ports for the brake lines.

The bracketry for the under-floor dual MC setup seem to be made of unobtainium these days. When I converted mine 8-9 years ago it took a while to source all the parts. If I were to do it all over again I would probably spring for Herm's setup and call it good. You do have to cut the old bracket out of the inside of the frame in order to make the new setup work.

Use Herms bracket but the MC he sold we was way too big, just buy his bracket Cardone has a smaller one that will fit and then use 90 degree banjo bolts for clearance. I have the part numbers and links. I will post when I find them. Also have install pics.

    Bump for pics.

After getting a new brake pedal arm, I can't get my pushrod to link up between the dual mc and the arm. What's the trick?
