So, I'm formulating a plan to separate the engine, clutch, transmission, transfer case and park brake assemblies. Any tips on where to start, and things I should know to take 'em apart smoothly? I'm assuming to start with the brake, but I've never worked on the rest before. Not on a Jeep anyway. Thanks!

Tub on or off? Before you do anything take pictures of all linkages and mounts.

Be careful separating the trans and xfer case or you'll drop a bunch of little roller bearings in the transmission. Not a big deal if you are planning on rebuilding the trans, but if you're not planning to take the trans apart, this will be a bummer. See disassembly step 2e in the link below.

I think that ^^ is the write up I used.

I'd (well I did) take it off in manageable pieces FROM THE BACK TO THE FRONT 1)TC, 2)Tranny, 3)bellhousing vs. removing both tranny AND TC at bell housing.

    Basically to break apart.

    1. ebrake (now or later)
    2. remove gear shift and do the wire thing (per write-up)
    3. remove TC rear cover plate and and nut inside. (Where an OD would go)
    4. unbolt one from each other. Seems there was a "hidden" bolt in there. Check the write up link above.

See the photos Rocky? The whole mess is sitting on a workbench.

And I'd forgotten, but I do have that T90 rebuild video! Never watched it because the trans has never been apart, but it's a VHS tape and I've also got a little TV set with a VHS player that I've been saving just for that tape.

Ok, this is what I was looking for.....nut inside under the TC cover plate and hidden bolt, I knew there was some secret somewhere.

I was at work and couldn't see any pictures. The only thing that'll bite you is when separating the TC from the trans. Be sure you don't let the main shaft back out of the trans. If you got a small hole TC, you'll need to remove the gear so be careful the shaft doesn't come with it.
