That's the reason I pulled mine off after ~500 miles to check it. It was still tight. Crap, now I feel like I should go pull it again to check.. Everything seems fine; been 2 or 3K miles I reckon..

Jim, I had the same problem with mine. A guy once told me to put the tranny in 1st and reverse at the same time with the cover off. Apparently this locks up the output shaft on the tranny so you can get that nut real tight. Ever since I did mine years ago, it's been fine. HTH.

Might want to consider some blue Locktight threadlocker.

    Good news Jim.
On your electrical demon. I rewired my whole Jeep just to find out it was the brake switch.

Ugg!!!.......it was dead as a door nail this morning......I have a closed cell battery from Napa with dual mounts, have the winch wired to the posts and the ecectrical system to the side mount.....gonna have to try eliminating one thing at a time I suppose, thats after having Napa test the battery

We have a guy up in our area that deals exclusively with Jeeps and 4-wheel drives who rebuilds and sells warn/saturn overdrives. He repeatedly told us to make sure we tighten the overdrive nut 150 ft lbs. Must have had experiences with this problem.
