Does anyone know the difference between various early model Warn locking hubs? For example the M2, WL2, WL2A etc? What years were they made and for what vehicles? Is there a specific type that I should look for to be period correct on a 63 CJ6?

I have a '63 CJ6 and my locking hubs are AVM spring manuals. They are probably not original, but who knows. It is just food for thought.

AVM was not making locking hubs in '63 so no, not period correct

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

drive flanges would be period correct.

My '66 CJ5 has Lock_O_Matics and I believe that they're original. It was a special order vehicle and also includes a 4 sp tranny and a rear PTO so the Lock_O_Matics may have also been a special order item.
