Admiral Cray I want to do this again.. Staff Member

Just to add a little more information. When I roll my first '66 in '70, I got a new tub, hood and front fender to replace the damaged from the roll over. The tub I got did not have any indents. The only front fender I could get had the indent for a side light, so I had to buy both the right and left front fenders. The only hood I could get came with side reflectors. I filled the holes for the reflectors in the hood. I still have one of the side reflectors.

I got all the parts from a Jeep dealer. I have always wondered where that Jeep ended up. I sold it in '72 after it rolled again, but on the freeway. The guy who bought it was going to use it for hunting. The frame was bent. I did not have the heart to rebuild it again.

I've had several PM requests for scanning the factory photo and letter.

    This has been my response:

"Can't run thru scanner as photo and Kaiser intro letter are stapled together...with origional staple.
If U look closely can see that page never been folded."

While I collect and search for dealership Jeepmobillia...I would trade this intro kit to someone that had a nice Renegade 1 to help with Jeep provenance.

In your photos, it looks like the photo page is stapled on top of the letter. The people PMing you must assume that someone with an iPhone 4 should own a flatbed scanner.

Thinking of selling... would like it to go to someone that has early origional Renegade.

Great find, I love this kind of ephemera. Someone always finds a little detail or clue about their particular area of interest.

Maybe that guy in Mississippi that kept pulling his off of the market? Or . . . . . maybe just someone with lots of $$$$$$$$!

That guy from Mississippi (Me) is back in Japan again but if someone wants the Jeeps to go along with the press release, all you got to do is send me a PM. As much fun as I've had with Jeeps, I'm just not home enough to do anything with them, including trying to sell them. Plus, the wife bought a new Camaro and we spend most of our free time going to car shows in it.

Sounds like U are on way out of the rare Jeep hobby.

I have this Renegade 1 press kit...but it doesn't "belong" to my collection.

Would add provinance to a collectible CJ.

I'll trade it off sooner or later, may put it up on eBay next time I see it.

Walter, Autolit does not have this Renegade I intro letter or the factory photo's.

I think I have two of those rims in the garage. I have my spare mounted on one. I think they are 10", the front one that came on my jeep looked like the same type but were 8", I got rid of those. If I knew they were original I would have kept them. guess where they went, out with the trash. (ok shoot me now) still have the two 10" though

Hey Red, I know this is an older post but are you saying you would like to sell or trade this renegade info to a Ren 1 collector?

My thanks to you all. The letter, photographs and comments are a huge help in figuring out what my jeep is supposed to look like. With a manufacture date in 69, mine cannot be a renegade. It has all the options of the 462, however, I was told they were not available in presidential red. So my research continues. Years after you made the post, they are still providing value! Thank you
