Question for TimGr

Tim, I thought I would direct this to you since in the past you seem to have a good handle on part numbers.
I purchased some seat covers from an online seller that are listed as being for the low back seats that are original to my 73 CJ5. The covers they sent are obviously for a high back seat and I am attempting to get a refund. The only reason they give a refund is for incorrect fit. They are, at this point, questioning whether in fact the seats were from a 65 or 66 CJ and not 1973 original. I would like to find the Jeep part number for the low back seat, if possible, to skirt this attempt to refuse my refund claim.
As far as I've found, the high backs started around 1976. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm almost certain that the seats I have are what was stock for this vehicle. :?

Thanks for any help with numbers, if possible.

Hopefully Timgr will chime in with part #'s, but you are correct. High backs didn't start until '76 or later and IIRC they were an option on the early changeover models (when they changed the body in '76) but I could be mistaken on that.
    Timgr! Where are yoooouuuuuu!R)

No highbacks in '73. Only the low-back buckets and the 60-40 bench seat.

Parts book says that high-back bucket seats started in 1978.

You need more? Can't give you scans/numbers right now, but maybe later.

Right now they're trying to get the seat dimensions for a 1973 from another seat cover maker. Hopefully that will prove to them that the seats I have are correct. I was thinking that if I had a picture to go with a part number for both styles, it would more or less shut the door.
If you can get these, it would be much appreciated. Hopefully the dimensions they find on their own will satisfy them.

Hey jpflat2a, that's good info! I'll see if I can download these images and keep them in reserve in case the seat cover company is still going to dispute my claim.:):)
Thanks to all that chimed in, I'll take all the evidence I can get.

Just want to get back and say that the seat diagrams provided me by jpflat2a did the trick! I heard from the seat cover manufacturer that they were able to find the correct pattern for my covers. Thanks for the help.:):coffee:
P.S. Now I just have to wait and see if these covers are correct.
