Just installed a Perfection Clutch in my jeep. Part # MU5472-1. Auto Zone has a clutch to fit my jeep as well. Part # NU5472-1, except it's a Valucraft brand clutch. Are the two clutches anything alike?
Has anybody tried the auto zone clutch? Was just curios why two different makes would have almost identicle part numbers.

I don't have the specific info you need but I do know that some odd things go on with respect to parts and their interchangability. They could be the same part.

A firiend of mine used to own a small parts shop (before Auto Zone put him out of business) and he said that he was surprised to notice for example that the clutch for a Jag and an MG were the same but one cost $20 and the other $100. Same manufacturer and same manufacturer's part number. This was a ususal occurrence he said.

Yeah, I just thought it was odd the numbers being that close. The Perfection clutch cost me $179.95. The Valucraft cost $149.95. Bought the Perfefection clutch from NAPA, being thats where I got it I knew it would cost just a little more.

Duke, I have experience with the AutoZone's clutch. I'm on my second one in as many Jeeps, and I have yet to have success in getting either of them disengaged. It's DFO error, I'm sure.
