    sammy Coca-Cola?

Just as it says. Not really looking for a "I towed a 1 ton chevy out of a ditch..." answers, but with a loaded trailer on a ball or pintle hitch.
    Thanks

I've towed a 12 foot long camper once, also towed a 1955 Willys pickup and FC 150 from Dillsboro NC to Greenville SC, about 100 miles, with a CJ 3b about 30 years ago when I didn't have any good sense. The 3b did have a 231 V6 and 4 speed, warn od conversion, with 5.38's.

    500 lbs.?
I'd think they'd be rated to tow more than that.

    sammy Coca-Cola?

The M100/MBT/M416/Bantam is 500 lbs in itself dry, overland payload is 500 lbs, and hiway payload is something like 1000 lbs... With the flathead what would it handle?

Yes. Won't win any races, but it'll do it.

    sammy Coca-Cola?

In town it should be good.
More so, would it handle ~1000lbs with 10" brakes in superb tune?

Yep, with some caution.. I hauled ~1500lbs in a 800 lb trailer for about 6 miles to the landfill with my 10" brakes.
I've hauled several loads of firewood in the same (4X8, 18" deep) trailer out of the Jemez...

5-6 tons of hay per wagon, for 20+ summers. 100-150 loads every year. Original clutch, 9" brakes, f-head, 5.38s. Stopping............. let's just say ya gotta have a plan:rofl::rofl: Two things to remember - you will NOT go fast, and you will NOT stop fast.

I used to haul around 1500-1800lbs of hay with a 10' trailer about 7 miles on a regular basis. I did that with 3.73 gears and 10" brakes on my cj5.

I hauled a 12 foot Uhaul from Ft Collins to MT behind a stock 3B back in 1973. Had a good headwind out of Casper WY and couldn't get it out of 2nd gear, up or down hill. It was a long trip and for some unknown reason, I needed some exhaust valve work after that trip. The replacement exhaust valves were in the form of a Chevy 327. I think you would be ok with something like the Bantum trailers, but I would not go for anything bigger unless the trip is very short.

I've towed our pontoon boat several times with no problems, but I only move it a few miles. Jeep is a '50 CJ3A with 5.38's and the stock L134

used my Truck the other week to pull down an old chicken house. Low gear and a little skinny pedal. Came down with a thud. I would guess the building was 15 ton? 20'X10'X7' all wood.
