Steve, guys, I've noticed on my York setup and yours that even with the separator oil (maybe oil vapor) still makes it to the end of the hose. You can smell it and see faint traces of oil around the tire valve stem upon airing up. My question is how long until you should check the oil level in the York crankcase because of loss? I have a drain on the bottom of my air tank but when I've opened it up no water or oil has ever come out. I have the separator plumbed back into the crankcase with a manual valve to shoot it back in there. I guess you could say that if the separator no longer collects oil then maybe you are out huh?

Going to guess if it's not blowing a little oil, you may be running it too low and risk some damage. I have the return line plumbed in one side of the York and a vent on the other so I have to pull the vent to check the level. But it is still something done at least 3 times a year.

As for dip sticks, my 74 FSM has all the dimensions for making one:

I have the other side blocked, should it be vented?
Also when you have checked how was the level? Ever needed to add?
I did make one of those dipsticks out of coat hanger wire when I originally installed a few years ago, put graduated marks on it with a pair of dikes. Wonder if I can find it.

That's professionnal, I don't understand anything (technical english is difficult for non-english speaking reader).
What I know is that a scuba diving tank is made to resist to high pressure, but once they made some in aluminium and it exploded (the first ones, I suppose).
Congratulations to all, this is engineer job! Top level.
