    Well finally got around to finishing up the radiator mount. Now I just gotta hook up the elec. fan to test it out (please be a big enough fan :? )

    Looks good jason. you look to have te same size fan i have. i think for safety you should get the front fan also.

    And how do you have the fans mounted? Looks like you have them zipped to the radiator. Do yourself a favor and make a real mounting setup. I did the zippy as a "temp" fix b but after 4 years of running it , they radiator gave up the ghost.

    Yeah I did the zippy tie thing. I was wondering how well they would work... :? Guess it wont work Huh?? I noticed the brackets that you used on your fans, where did you get those????? Are they just the universal ones they sell in Jegs or Summit???

    The brackets are actually "L" brackets from Lowe's. I got them in the cabinet section. Cost bout $2.50 for a package of 2 or 4. I then bent them flat, and with that rebending, it made an offset that kept the fan off th eradaitor. and then i jus tmounted the brackets to the mounts for the radiator. for you it will be a touch differnt but look at the hardware store for some angles, they have differnt sizes

    I actually used those "L" brackets for the top and bottom "saddels" to keep it from moving front to back.

    Looking at your radiator. it seems the top and bottom us a "U" shape pice of bent aluminum. you could rrill a hole in the side and mount the L brackets there

    Are you talking about those lips that stick up? If so they are only about 3/8" tall, so it would be tough to drill a hole and leave enough material on the top side of the hole for it to still be strong.

    Those are what i am talking bout. i may have taller sides on mine, but another thing what i did was take a piece of all thread and drill throguh both sides on the "U" and then run the allthread through and put bolts and washers on it to bolster the sides and give you more support

    one other ?? I had, is the hose I found that was closest to working had to be bent a little farther than what the original bend was so the tube is collapsing some, maybe to 75% of what it should be. So will this still flow enough to not be a problem???? Its hard to tell in the pic but the hose actually goes down curves back up and then curves back down onto the radiator inlet. Kind of like a "S" shape but in a very tight area :shock: Did I mention that this was a PIA to find this hose :evil:

    I think i have the part # of the hose i used. i do not know the application but it fit pretty nicely. i jsut went to the back of the autoparts store and looked around at the hoses. You could take a hose clamp and tighten to force it to stay uncompressed. i did that on a bend on my top hose, works fine

    the hose I used, I ended up cutting that section out of it. I had to trim both ends of it to get that section I used.

    Hey Jason -

    Looks like you're using the 4 cyl frame-mounted battery tray yet? Hows the fit with that? I had planned on chopping that out, not thinking I'd be able to work the 4.3 in around it...

    Scott, that hose would work, except for some reason on my radiator the inlet actually points up rather than straight out. So I needed a hose that actually curves back down at the end

    It fits just fine actually. I had to cut a 45* angle out of the corner by the radiator about 2"x 2" and it fits in there just fine. I'll get some pics of the clearence for ya this evening. ;)

    Do you have a big spring in that lower hose to keep it from collapsing? If so you should be OK with it. If you don't have a spring in it, you need to get one.
