225 Overhaul Questions

    Since I won't be driving the Jeepster for a while (what Jeepster? I don't even 'own' a Jeepster.... at least not until after the divorce is final :twisted: ) I plan to rebuild the engine and trans.

    I read somewhere that 225's don't have replacable valve guides. If so what needs to be or can be done to get a GOOD valve job on this thing. I know that loose guides can cause the valves to run hot and burn/warp.

    This is not a problem as most engines including small block chevy's didn't have replaceable valve guides 30 years ago either, they will just machine out the boss if need be and insert a modern guide in there, or they can knurl them which is a decent way to fix it but not the best it raises material up and then they ream it to fit the valve stem again.
