I just stared building another Jeep. This time I wanted something bigger, but I wanted to stay with the round door opening, so I chose a 6. Here are the begining specs, 318 mopar, 727, full time t-case, dana 44 front and 60 rear, 38" swampers. A 76 Dodge Military ambulance donated the driveline. I will update this as I make progress. I will bost some pictures as soon as I have a rolling chassis 8)

Finally started ordering parts. 3.5 wrangler springs, a set of revolver shackles, and a locker for the back of dad's 7, payment for using the garage  . Now I just have fo find some money to buy a digital camera to take pictures to post here.

    Fourtrail,

Could you fill me in on the details of your lift? I am also just starting to order parts to do a lift similar to what you are doing and would appreciate some feedback or advice if you have any. If you are installing YJ springs do you need different shackle and spring hangers? From the research that I have done I think that the springs are different lengths too. What are your plans for getting past this? I am planning to by new shackle and spring hangers grinding off the old ones, bolting on the new then having them welded in place. Any comments?

    Thanks,

    Karl

Yeah, old friends. As you can tell by his screen name he hasn't figured it out yet  , but he is thinking about trading the ford for a 3A on a cj-5 chassis powered by a v-6

Might be a few slight drive line changes. Going this weekend to look at a donor truck that might have a front dana 60. Also looking at another donor that has a NP435. If everything works out I will be able to shift gears and have a better front end.

got the NP435 home. syncro 1st gear is so cool. $300 dollars pushed it off the trailer, put in a good radiator and dumped some gas down the carb and it fired right up. Then promptly went out and got it stuck.

Just saw your '6 site the other night, looking good.

I'll send ya some links if I find any, but my '6s aren't on any sites with buildups, though I have a site that I host pix on.

It would be nice to see your site grow as the CJ6 is a much better rig than the '8, as far as wheeling is concerned. :stout:
