17 to 18 with the Solex. Less with the Carter when I was using it. Working on the Carter now, may or may not be able to rescue it!

Low gearing on mine, although I do have the overdrive installed and I use that quite a bit which might be helping a little.

Not sure you can hit this mark running a FHead. They are gonna chug gas while towing at 55. Has a hard enough time keeping 55 empty lol.

You would likely hit these with a 4.3 on gas. You would well exceed these with a Kubota.

If the plan is to keep the FHead, maybe drop the towing effiency expectation. My personal goals aren’t that different. Actually very similar. I eventually decided to go with a Kubota. Project should get going next year. I sourced a motor already though.

My 134L is now 140 cu in at 7.2-1 compression ratio with a cast aluminum intake running a Weber DGV that will be properly tuned to the engine and vehicle exhaust is a one of a kind Tri Y design that will improve mid range torque and HP. Electronic Vacuum advance distributor, Electric fan as well as the rotating assembly from Crank nut to Pressure plate being computer spin balanced. I'm gong to be running a 29" tall tire with a ATV 30% OD. and 5.38 gears. I should be running 2400 rpm at 55mph

I'll also be running a Hard top and my off road trailer will be smooth side with nothing hanging out in the wind.

I applaud you for keeping it real. I sincerely debated similar approaches and chickened out lol

I am around 10 miles per gallon, but I make small distances so, lot of starts.
I also drive on small tracks between fields, so I stay in 2nd gear for bad places.
