"Therapy" Progress Report With Pics

"Therapy" is the nickname of my 1970 JEEP CJ5. Here is a chronology of the rebuild.

Finally got around to finishing the T-18 today. Now I just need a JEEP to put it into.

Nice color! If you haven't buffed it and plan to the scratch isn't a biggie. It will hardly show if you just brush it in.

 

Looks good Clint! Sorry about the scratch though. I went though the same thing when I painted mine. I never took the tub off, but when I had the jeep back in the garage after it was painted and was bolting everything on, I knocked over a set of saw horses and banged right into my new paint job. I tried to hide my frustration, but it didn't work. I was REALLY mad. On the header thing, mine hits right there as well. I just took a torch and cut out where I needed too. It still rattles against the tub at certain RPM's though. Maybe a small body lift?

It is an inevitable, whether it's a new vehicle or a shiny new pair of boots
you will always get a scratch Almost immediately and then it seems like nothing else ever happens. If you still have some of the original paint
and a very small artists paint brush. I would fill the scratch, let it dry
and then buff it out. If you go four wheeling it wont be the last time
it gets scratched, but it's a jeep not a completely restored 1966 Mustang fastback with a high gloss red paint job, (been there had that happen)
I will up the ante to a role of brand-new shiny pennies, final offer

:iagree: ...another matter of market and taste and it's intended use. I must say that I have driven though drive in on friday night in my flatty and have more heads turn than they did when I was in some of the classics or sports cars I've owned.

Boy did I touch a nerve and for the record. I did not say (just a jeep)
I just said jeep, to me a jeep is a valuable tool and not a pretty boy. That should be on a pedestal. It should be used and enjoyed for what it can do. Not something that I would take out every weekend and polish then return to the garage. A beautifully rebilt stock jeep with functional options, like a winch is what I appreciate I wouldn't even see a few minor scratches
