Well it's time to start thinking about the power steering conversion on my '59 cj5. It has a 225 v-6. Can anyone tell me from what year and model car i can get the power steering pump and brackets? It has a Saginaw manual box now. I have a p/s box fom a late '70's early '80's cj. Would it be better to use the p/s box out of the doner car? I recently got laid-off and i am searching for a new job now, so now is the time to start the planning stages! I am using some of my free time to do a bunch of things to the cj that don't require much $. Did'nt relize how much there was to do! Many thanks.

I got my brackets and pump of an 80's buick 3.8 v6 sedan. I think it was a skylark or something. Any 3.8 rwd should work if I am not mistaken. My bracket also has a spot for an a/c compressor for a york or something in the future.

IMO the Jeep gear would be better. Some of the car boxes have a fast ratio that you may not like with a short wheelbase. Jeep PS boxes from that era are typically slow and easy types.

An older Buick 350 V-8 works for the brackets. That is what I have on mine.
