Finally got around to have some stock exhaust pipes duplicated. Next step is to remove the crappy dual setup from the PO and install the duplicates. I hope they go in as planned. Here's a pic of the NOS and duplicate set side by side.

This is the stock setup for the 225 V6 with an underseat gas tank. BTW, I asked this before but does anyone have the exhaust pipe bracket that bolts to the starter?

Any chance someone might start making these for sale?

Dunno. Can't really say why vendors or aftermarket manufacturers steer clear of oddfire CJ parts, especially exhaust pipes. They're available for most other CJs even those older. If anyone wants the pipes shown in the pics I can provide the contact info. of the shop that made them. I don't want to be the middle guy though.

Please send me the shop contact info. I took a dual set-up off of my 70 CJ5 and the shop that did the work did a crappy job on the replacement pipe.
    Thanks

    Talk to the owner, Brian.

I would wait though until I install the duplicated pipes to make sure they fit properly. The only thing that's holding me back is the muffler and some stainless steel clamps, which haven't arrived yet. Incidently, the original replacement muffler is still available from Walker. Same goes for the tailpipe. Why the tailpipe is still available and not the other pipes is a mystery to me.

Those look great! Let us all know how they fit. Are they stainless steel? If I mite ask, what did that exhaust set you back?

No, not stainless steel. They're the aluminized steel. Cost was $160 with tax.

Bumping this super old thread to see if anyone has any more recent experience with having new stock-replacement 225 V6 exhaust pipes made anywhere. My PO put a dual-muffler under the seat exhaust on and I don't want to put it back this fall when I get to that part of my build.

Is a stainless exhaust worth the investment in the long run? Does anyone have any experience with their different muffler options?

Here in New England, stainless exhaust may be worthwhile. My VW has a stainless exhaust - I got tired of fixing it every few years. In California, probably not.

I did the Walden Exhaust. Not happy with it. The FSM shows the cross over at the T-case with the skid plate protecting it. The Walden Exhaust I got crossed over behind the engine and will be real close to the front drive shaft

And you have a 1970? I wonder if their exhaust is for early models, which are only 1966-1967? (Is that right?)

The late model routing is different to accommodate the rear mounted fuel tank.

I have a 70. I added a piece of exhaust pipe at the passenger side exhaust manifold to move the cross over away from the drive shaft. . If you do any serious wheeling I would think it would hit.
I am adding a rear gas tank next winter so I am going to have the exhaust system redone.

The system they sent bolted right up, got it done in a couple of hours. There was no problem with the install
