Since the tv cable is shut down because a wind/rain storm, AND I CANT WATCH THE STANLEY CUP FINAL, I continued to work on the doors.

Yes I know, it is just a hockey game, but for us Canadian, especially French Canadian, hockey is for us what football is for you. So imagine no TV For Superbowl, and you'll understand my feeling...but I'm drifting away from the subject...

Anyway, I said to myself that I should do something usefull. Here are the pics of the ``upholstery`` of the doors, and a look on the jeep. next is screwing the hinges on doors and tub, installing the handle, and I'll be done. More on this in a couple of days.

After many years in Detroit, I know how you feel about missing the game.

Those doors look awesome. Nice job! I was thinking about this today and wondering if putting a fiberglas finish on it would make it stronger and perhaps paintable? I like the cover you have now though.

Great looking doors! Best backyard fix, I've seen in a while. :)

One comment, though...you may want to drill two additional screw holes in the hinge plates, closer to the hinge pin. Only having two screws in the wood, at the edge of the hinge plate may cause to much "moment" pressure on the plywood, causing the screws to tear out, or loosen the connection. Just a thought.

In fact, I drilled the holes you talk about last night, and the hinges will be bolted, not screwed on the plywood. I bought some small 8/32 machine screw with nuts and washers to do this job. I also got the bolts for the closing mechanism, I'll post pics of this when I'm done, too hard to explain in english.
