I have a 1970 V6 t-14 d18 set-up. I am looking for a picture of the transfer case mount on the side of the xfer case where it attaches to the frame. I bought a new mount from Krage but I think it is the wrong one. The PO had no mount just bolted to the frame.
Any one have a picture of the correct mount? Thanks - Tim

Are you talking about the rubber part of the mount? if so I believe it is supposed to be identical to the motor mount from a 4 cyl, small block of rubber with 2 mounting tabs on one side and a stud sticking out the other.

Yes the rubber part. The one I got from Krage is a round rubber piece with a bolt, washer, nut. I am guessing it is wrong. FSM I couldn't tell what I need. If I could see a pic maybe I could order the right one or make one.....

If I were at home, I'd get you a pic. there was a thread on this about a year ago that contained pics of the correct mount and some diagrams from a SM showing how it attaches. I thought mine was rigged up until I saw the pics and found out it was stock. there is a piece of rather thick steel strap which looks bent and twisted that mounts the TC ear to the rubber mount which is mounted through 2 holes in the frame.

Looks like this (from Krage, look for an F head motor mount)

Mine looks to be an original '70 225/T-14/D18 setup. If you need more pics, e-mail or PM me, and I can get them to you later tonight.

Heres what mine looks like currently. The L-bracket goes to the frame through a rubber mount. Do I just bolt the case to the L-bracket and be done?

Randy I don't see how the motor mount would work with mine.
Thundrpig- That looks like the one I bought from Krage.

actually, the motor mount is in your picture, it is the piece attached to the frame. being as it is rubber and will do the shock part, I have a bolt through the bracket you are showing to hold it to the transfercase.

 I took another look Randy. I do have the motor mount. I looked at the FSM and I was seeing the mount like Thunderpigs but I couldn't see how it would work on mine. I will put a bolt in there and be done with it.
Thanks everyone.......I knew I could count you all.:)

Just make sure the rubber in the mount is not torn:coffee:

Tim- Thanks for the thread. I've been wigging out over the correct tcase shock absorber ever since I had mine out. PO just had a bolt.

Thanks for all the good info guys.

    Yep,

Mine is a 61 and obviously they made a change! They sent you the part for an older model like mine...

I do think a rubber mount of some type should be between the frame piece and the t-case on yours.:) I'd go with $inks "plan" :)

This is one of those items that seems like Kaiser could never make up their mind on. I thought mine was home-brewed, with a funky S-shaped mount used to connect the tc to a rubber puck bolted to the cross-member, but it turns out many people (some who bought their JEEP new), had the identical setup. Maybe around '69-'70 they switched to the frame-rail setup?

The is from James P. E's JEEP:

  18. Mike: Thanks for keeping that pic. I don't have it anymore. I remember a while back we had quite a detailed discussion about it.

    Tim,
On my '70 the TC is mounted via a piece of flat steel bent at a 90*angle from the mount shown in $sinks post which is attached inside the frame rail w/ an additional small downward bend to the TC mount. In the first picture the red circle shows the TC attachment point and the yellow circle shows the mount bolt. The second picture shows it from another angle in the fushia circle.:v6: View attachment 11286
