I'm building mine as in the pic but I'm making them 59" long. I seen a trailer that has the ramps detachable and stored along the side. They used angle (I'll check the size) to store each ramp along the sides in front of the fender wells. I'll get pics this weekend and post them.

    8) I won't start mine until next weekend, anyway. That's perfect!

Here's an idea, just tack weld those 59"ers together to check out the weight. They can get very heavy real quick. ;)

ramps on my trailer are about 36" long, but my trailer has a 3' beaver tail.

I've already welded everything togeather, the weight isn't bad. The lenght is needed to fit the holder that I'll attach to the sides. Hopefully the pics I get this weekend can explain it better.

Ok back from my excursion with the pics. This ramp is made with 2" tubing with grating welded over the top for traction. The ramp carrier is 3" angle with a plate on the bottom. Give a holler if there is more info or pics that you want or need.
