This is the weekend, the family is gone and I am going to sandblast the hardtop I bought 1 1/2 years ago. Then I will have to work on it to have it ready for winter.

Question: the data plate for the top has been painted. Any ideas on removing the "new" paint with out removing the factory paint so I can read it?

On a whim I took a chance with paint stripper on mine and it worked fine. The original paint didn't get hurt. Maybe try a tiny spot on yours.

I think that light use of stripper would work fine. It'll attack the weakest point, and that is most likely the 'new' paint.

Here is the word of the day ----- Q-tip

ok finished as much sandblasting as I could take today. (sides, rear hatch, and a door)

What is the best way to handle rust between two parts that are spot welded. It has not come through the outer sheet metal and I cleaned it up with the sand blaster. Air Hammer would require toooooo much cutting. (I'd be better off making a HT )

    Please help.

Hard to do it without making a mess, but I've poured Ospho in seams like that, after it dried did the same with Rustoleum rusty metal primer. Tape outer edges so it doesn't just run right through.

Ospho is a rust converter, but it's thin just like water. I think phosphoric acid is one of the ingredients.
