The intake is good for a 225, the carb not so much. The AFB/Edelbrock carbs are good for street use but the design of the float bowls doesn't work well off road. Plus, 500 cfm is a lot for an engine that small.

They are acceptable if you block off the crossover between the bowls, use spring loaded seats, lower the float level a touch, and regulate the fuel pressure to 3 psi. The one on my 71 handles climbs and side hills with no issues after an afternoon worth of mods.

I've done those mods to an Edelbrock with limited success, except I've never tried running one with the fuel pressure that low. That could make the difference.

Listed as a dual-plane but is in fact a dual-port.

I have a Carter and Eldelbrock, both about 600CFM. Haven't tried either. Sticking with the TA470 for now but may try FI in the future.

Im running a factory duel plane on my 225 with a Motorcraft 2150 and it's been working perfectly on and off road. I've been tempted to slap on a Offenhouser manifold for the "cool factor" from time to time, but my wallet has made the decision not to make any changes.
