11" Amc 20 Drums Swap Onto A Dana 44?

RATTYFLATTY I think you need a little more throttle

Does a complete 11" AMC 20 drum assembly swap onto a CJ Dana 44, backer plate and all? Has anyone ventured down this path?

the center hole is too small and the bolt patterns don't match.
I wanted to do the same thing, I finally modified the 11" dana backing plates to fit M20 brake cables.

But if your comfortable modifying the amc plates go for it

It would be very difficult to "modify" AMC 20 backing plates to fit a Dana 44.

If you want 11" brakes for your Dana 44 look for backing plates from 72-73 Jeep CJ, Scout II, or 68-73 Ford Bronco. Drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, and hardware are available from many FLAPS, or on-line from PartsGeek.

A forum member recently listed a lot of 11" brake parts. I bought a set of four backing plates but he also had a pair of complete assemblies for a reasonable price. I don't know if he sold that pair of assemblies, but probably did since I can't find the add anymore.

You could place a WTB in the forum classifieds. A lot of Jeepers are converting to disc brakes and someone probably has what you need.

I'm not looking for a set, I've just have always tossed them when parting out post 75 CJ"s which I have 2 now to part. Just looking to see if there is any value in them.
