Venting Windshield

Did Willys ever put a venting windshield on a CJ3B. Fellow I work with is working on a 2A and it had this on it.
He bought a new tub kit with a windshield frame. It is in rough shape. Not sure if I can make anything out of it or not.

 

Seems I've seen one, venting 3b windshield.

Probably that was for export in hot places.
It looks like same system as on my Cj5.

 

I would add that there was similar system on our Citroen traction avant, 1952.
When hot you could open a bit the windshield by turning a central screw.
And if rain rapidly c!ose it ! It comes to my memory...

 

Definitely did. There is some info the CJ3B page. I have my eye on one near me, I will probably have to buy the complete jeep (rough) to get it.

There was def a 3b venting windshield. It was factory I've seen one. Agreed thst is a 2a windshield though. The 3b venting windshield was similar to the 5.

 

Export 3Bs had venting windshields.

 

M606 spec'd 3Bs had them

 

I have one here. The DJ was offered with it as well.

 

I think DeBellas Jeep might still have NOS CJ3b/606 venting windshields.
The CJ2a’s had square corners on the top of the frame, the CJ3 variants had rounded top corners.
Lots of 2a’s have been retrofit with the 3a/3b frames.

You might appreciate this. CJ2A windshield on the bottom, CJ3B (to the best of my knowledge) windshield on the top, stainless steel in the middle.

 

Thats either a home-made “extension”, or a 3a windshield frame. I’ll go with the home made version.
