Part of the reason I went with the stubby arm........the vibration. Also to avoid trail damage.

being in the HD truck and trailer parts biz for 43 years I added those to my CJ5 years ago. never realized I was such an innovator. Most HD truck dealers stock them in a variety of brands so just look up your local Peterbilt, KW or Freightliner dealer and they probably have them on the shelf.

Do the round mirrors work like the later rectangular mirrors? The right rectangular mirror stalk has like a 60 degree bend, and the mirror stays ahead of the cowl. you're supposed to view it through the right-hand side of the windshield. Does not bounce around as I recall.

Right stalk is bent. Left stalk is straight. Typo previously.

Both of my 67 CJ5s have a rectangular mirror head on a fairly long straight stalk that mounts to the windshield hinge. I think the bent stalk ones came along later.

Round or rectangular mirrors work the same :D
