    Nope, your not alone. I have never owned or used any type of mechanical saw chain sharpening device. Only bought dozens of new round files and used a dry corn cob or wooden handle. My go to wood for handles is a local wood "sour wood". Dries out hard as a bone.

    I picked up some Australian made chains a few years back for my little Echo CS300. They don’t have any of the anti-kickback rakers, and they stay sharp twice as long as Oregon chains. Sometimes the saw is at its power limit because the chain in so aggressive. I wish I could find more of these chains.
