Well, I'm on my 3rd E-bike conversion now.

It's a 2021 Cannondale Trail 5 29" but I'm having a hard time getting the chain alignment right with a BBSHD.

It's running at an angle even on the smallest gear.

Any ideas? Do they make an offset chain ring for these that moves it closer to the center?
I don't quite understand as most offset ones move them away from the motor.

Wow, that is a big offset. I am not sure about the chain rings. I have only converted the one bike and it did not have an alignment issue.

Do you have a wider than normal bottom bracket? I am just trying to think what would cause that misalignment.

    It's a 74mm bottom Bracket.
I was on the fence buying a 65-74MM or 75-100MM drive. ended up with a 75-100mm motor drive.

Just ordered a Luna eclipse 42t chain ring. It has a 24mm offset in it.
If it's too much I can shim the motor out with all the extra space.

    Wasn't yours a Cannondale Trail 5 also?

It is, I believe I bought the one for the smaller bottom bracket. I was worried about the other one being too wide to work. Mine fits with zero room for adjustment.

Just an update. Finished it up today. went with a 63-74 mm BBSHD.

Ran the wires internally where I could.

    Using a 24aHr 48 volt battery.
