As some of you know I have had my 75 up for sale for a while now. Little interest. And then: I have 2 people wanting to buy. A lady in Denver just Venmo'd me a deposit. I will replace it with a newer more comfortable model.

we have a forum for this....

I can understand though. I'm getting more and more tired of having a project that barely fits the family. But I'm not ready to make that choice quite yet.

Now to get out there and fix that steering box so I can get it off the jack stands....

Thats a decision i made early on...this rig is 90% for me. Almost like a harley with a 2-up seat.

I have a 2013 Honda and a 2015 F150 if my fam-bam wants to go on a long drive where comfort is key.
That being said, i’m stoked to be able to move towards everyone (5 of us) having a seatbelt in my ‘63 for trail rides that they want to go on.

I would sell mine and buy a 6 but there is one name on the title and it's mine. It would be harder to keep a bought project now after marriage should it get sour.

So I keep it and I'll make it grow and If I wreck I'll take the vin plate with me.

If I recall the 09 still had the bad motor.

That said I'm also a fan of the "quitters club". I daily the wife's 04 rubicon and will freely admit it's pretty nice. It won't replace the intermediates on the trail, or summer daily duty. But it's nice right now for sure!

This stinks. I was getting used to using your Jeep as an instruction sheet for mine. You can always hang out in the quitters club...

Glad you accomplished your goal and made the sale. Pass the Jeep on to someone who will enjoy it for what it is.

No need to leave though. You don't have to stay in the quitter's forum. We would welcome any technical responses you might have, as an expert ex-owner.

Good luck on the JK. They are a decent machine with more off road ability out-of-the-box than anything that came before them. That said, my 2012 has been pretty much nothing but problems and it only has 57k on the odometer. I will not be buying another. Mine will be for sale in the not too distant future.

As Tim notes, no need to abandon us---------

09 doesn't necessarily have a "bad motor", just underpowered and overdriven. Fine for tooling around stock, but put bigger tires on and you'll need to gear it. I have 5.13's and 37's on my 2010 2 door and it needs deeper gears still.

Nothing is set in stone yet. Need to get paid for my 75 first.

Well That was a **** show that turned out all right. First buyer who committed and just had to have it cuz it was her dream Jeep. Backed out after a test drive. Hubby told me it is just too much Jeep for her. I kinda have to agree, as I had a discussion with her. Loaded it back up and they gave me $250 for my trouble and trip. I kept their deposit too. So there is this other guy who has been asking questions for 2 weeks. Dropped him a text. Later he came back with he is interested. Since I am in Denver, and he is in Monument. So we agree to meet in Monument. Long story short, he looked at it and offered cash. I had already dropped the price a bit because I had money from the first buyer. I take it to his house and unload, and put it in a garage/shop he has. Also in that shop is a 69 GTO that he has restored. We chat, he pays I hand him title and off I go in a snowstorm. Made it to Ft Collins before the wife talked me into stopping for the night. All in all 1100 miles in 2 days. For you guys in Colo Springs his name is Brian Martinez, retired LEO in Colo Springs police dept.

All's well that ends well. Hope you stick around to reminisce about the simpler days when you drove a mechanical jeep
