Throttle Cable Loop?

‘72 304

Is this right? It’s the only way I could figure out how to reinstall the throttle cable due to it’s length. Seems to function right but looked odd to me.

 

mine has a loop but was for a six now on a 304 . not sure if the v8 factory cable was the same.

 

If mine is typical, the loop is right. my loop goes toward the middle of the Jeep rather than up.

 

I believe that the loop is good and correct

 

X2 that is the same on my 74, has not been removed since new.

 

I have that same loop on my 72 and the 304 I have is original
