Help, my ignorance is showing. I am putting in a “new to me” F head to replace a shot one.
I am posting a pic of two different valve covers. Need help figuring this out and which to use and why. Thx FD5F7C57-1C0C-43C4-8EA3-2EAD8DA5F997.jpeg

The top one with the breather(?) came on the incoming one. The one sitting in place (without breather) was on my old engine. It matches the pic in the utility vehicle pic. The breather cover matches the one in KaiserWillys catalogue. Help appreciated.

There was a re-design on the PCV system at some point, they moved the "suck" part of the system from the separator deally on the valve cover to a check valve on the side valve cover next to the fuel pump.

You really, really, need to buy a FSM. :)

This is my 62 CJ5 with 134. It the motor went south and was pulled. I got another supposed running 134 and am trying to install.. there are several differences as we install. Always learning. If you come north on the boat next summer, get in touch

That’s the problem. The engine with breather comes from an unknown jeep probably not 62 CJ5 which is what it’s going into.

I expect the non ventilated cover would be correct for a 1962 CJ.
