So back story, Wife was born in 74, her dad had a cj when she was growing up and learned how to drive in it.
I thought it would be an awesome gift to find her a Birth year cj and give it to her for her birthday.
Sold my 1975 Yamaha rs100b to fund the purchase of the jeep after i looked forever to find her one and got it.
got the jeep, didn't run, had no floor, fenders mostly gone. it is rough to say the least.

Running issue started with the ignition module burnt up and rusted out on the fender. wires burned. general chaos. purchased a HEI drop in and after putting it in it fired right up but runs not right I guess. chokes out with throttle? I got it to idle ok without the vacuum on, but as soon as i put on the vacuum it runs so bad it stalls out. Not sure on that yet. Carb is leaking out the throttle shaft. throttle cable was gone, purchased new but seems to want to come off the throttle at the carb if you blip the throttle. Very annoying so far.

Any ideas on the vacuum advance issue ?

picked up a set of glass fenders for it for $100, they were also rough but good enough after a little repair for us to use.

Ordered in a wiring harness to redo everything. no lights were working and the dash is full of toggle switches.

It seems to be more of a project than I expected but im slowly getting there.

Its nothing like my Broncos im use to building up and playing with.

Still need to get the windshield thing figured out and either ordered or something. Its hard to keep all this a secret and spend a little money here and there on parts without her knowing. I want to get it just going and not going to fall apart or break down on her so she can run to the store or just around town for now. It will def get a new cj body this winter.

kids helped out a ton this week and its together enough and runs to give it to her so i can stop trying to hide it, She is starting to ask questions about where i am and what m doing. All I need is for her to think im cheating on her or something.
