This is the first I've ever heard of C&C. Their prices do look really good. W/O makes it sound as though the tubs are a disaster as delivered and he fixes all the problems. Thing is, besides cutting dash holes, what is he really doing? What I need to know is, is there 2g difference in the W/O product, as opposed to the straight from MD juan body.

Technically there is Aqualu. But those bodies aren't really reproductions, more like replacements.

It was 2014. The guys name was Rommel and it was thru the CJ2A page. Myself and another guy were having the same issues and Rommel just quite responding.

Yes that’s Omaha orange. Thing I’ve noticed with the repo tubs is there always gonna be some kind of work you have to do. I enjoy having a new tub and taking a little extra time to make it original by measuring out oem firewall holes etc.. I did have to fab up mounts for the speedo in the dash as it did not come with the post. As well as weld a section on the firewall to match the stock 1960 look

The major items are the dash layout, steering column pass through, the frame mount holes, the roll bar holes, the seat mount holes, the door hinge holes, any holes needed for the top, holes for the tail lights and any marker lights, any special firewall pass throughs, etc. Understand that the body will come with no holes drilled at all. Anything you are doing that is custom W/O likely couldn't do for you anyway. I didn't think the extra cost was worth it for me. My biggest recommendation is to completely assemble the Jeep with the body in primer, then pull it apart, paint it the final color, and put it back together one last time.

I have a tub from C&C also. Its for an intermediate though. The only problems I have so far is one of the mid-body hat channels totally misses the frame mount location, and master cylinder firewall cut out is not right. . However, it seems as though it is an Intermediate dash panel in a pre-intermediate tub (maybe 71? as the JEEP on the cowl should be Jeep) nothing major.

Another note from c&c you will not get a early cj5 grille they do not reproduce that style as per their sales crew. The kit will come with an intermediate grille with large marker lights. Luckily I had one from my old tub

Disclaimer - years ago I did the WO website. IIRC Jay said they were fixing just about any hole in the body - dash holes, pedal holes, firewall holes, etc. I know body mounts were an issue as they had a number of old frames to use as jigs.

That's been a while - I'm not sure if MD Juan ever did change or fix anything that would affect what WO is doing these days.

How about hood and windshield mounts? Do the repro bodies have the threaded insert in them or is it just a blank hole, or nothing at all? Would be a real PIA to weld nuts up under the dash to bolt them to.

Windshield no didn’t have anything had to drill and bolt. Hood yes had the threads

Don't know if W/O sells an unfixed tub, but the fixed one runs over 4g. Kaiser willys sells the exact same tub as C&C (I assume) for 3200 (no script) or 4000 (with JEEP script) C&C is looking pretty good, if the tubs are the same.

Did the tub from C&C have the "JEEP" script on the side panels? Looks like that costs extra from everywhere else, maybe due to licensing?

Mine did (JEEP) not correct for 74 (Jeep) but I'm not building a "correct 74"

I went the Aqualu route and I was really happy with it. Granted, my CJ6 is far from original, but hey, the plywood and casket trim (you read that correctly) that it was patched up with when I bought it weren't original either. Lol. That said, I think we will do an MD Juan body for my son's 1957 CJ5. He wants it mostly original and using all his original driveline.

Yes, it had the correct early script for no extra charge.

Please check out my post of a few years ago. It seems I had a lot of the same questions then as you do now.

    MD Juan Tub Kit 1969 CJ5 4CLY (7/2016)

I bought my MD Juan tub from Quadratec. I got a great price; they had it for a while and discounted it. It was a great experience for my brother and me. Mine was an older version of their tub, but nearly a perfect match to my 1969 body it replaced. The 1969 is an odd duck, but I don't remember having any problems to speak of. The whole 14 month journey is in the post.

    Best of luck!

I called C&C yesterday and it seems the plague has affected the Phillipines badly enough that Ill have to wait 1-2 months. Guy on the phone did seem pretty knowledgeable, though. 2g for the tub and 425 shipping is still the best price I've seen yet.
