I know there are tons of threads about tire sizes and I have looked through many of them. I currently have 7.00-15LT tires on my 67 CJ5 and am looking to replace them soon. I am doing some investigating but it looks like my jeep was lifted at one point in time, so I'd like a tire that fills the wheel well a little better. Would there be a taller tire that fits the 15" rims without having to go to a modern 30 x 9.50 or 31 x 10.50? I know a lot of people run 7.50-16 which are larger, but it sounds like finding the larger wheels is tough (and expensive)

You could go to a 235 85R15 which is almost a 31” tall tire. I believe your size is 28”

    not that I know of....
Here is a useful chart/website for comparing different pmetric and LT sizing...I tried to link it for 15" rims

If going with the traditional (often bias-ply, but not always): the coker website can give you some sizes as well:

I've been looking for a while and haven't been able to find anything other than the Super Swamper TSL in 29x8.50-15. Downside is it's bias ply and load range B.

I've been tempted to try some UTV tires, they have some interesting sizes.

I've thought the same thing. There is a BFG 32×9.5R15 KM2 for UTV racing. Not DOT approved so not technically street legal, but it's probably fine for a light Jeep that see mostly off-road use..

they make super swamper tsl in 34 x 9.50-15 but I think thatd be a bit much for you they also make it in a 32 x 9.5 expensive though.

You had to post that link.
Then I had to click on the video. :susp:

I want to go run that course in my 3b. :sneak:
It would be an epic failure, but it would be fun.

Hah, makes my spine hurt thinking about doing that with a Jeep. Other than the big jumps, I'd be all over that playground on my quad though.

I have a tiny lift probably same as yours and I have 33x10.5x15. I've picked up both ends with my forklift and no rubbing with the wheel pointed forward.

Do I need to worry about my rim width? I found another thread where there was talk that 30 x 9.50s and 31x10.50s were too wide to be mounted on the stock 15" wheels.

I would be cautious about how wide a tire I put on an OEM 4.5" wide rim....Personally, I would be nervous about tires that wide on a 15x4.5 rim, although i know a few run 235mm (9.25") wide tire on stock rims, although that is often on a 85 profile tire on 16" rims (16x4.5 rims with 235/85/16 tires)....
