Made in '69 and sold in '70? '69 is the year of the hood reflectors...

Yep, mine is a late 69 (Oct I think), but sold as a '70. Good catch Admiral!

The jeep didn't have them. If it did, they would be on mine!

This thing is sweet I love where it is going. Any more pics of the power steering set up?

I have been wrestling with the idea of a t18 as well it would give me the gears I want and I have a handle on a couple cheap ones but when you factor in the adapters it starts to get pretty pricey. I'm trying to keep mine under 4000 all in. Fingers crossed for a Jeep t18 with a d20 adapter but short of that for a budget rig its hard for me to swallow.

Just what is in the thread. It's pretty straight forward. Just a pump, a valve and a cylinder.

Is there any problem with the cylinder and manual steering box being different speeds. I have done hydro assist on power steering before and it was awesome but this looks like the best solution I have seen for an early jeep.

The servo is what regulates the fluid flow, so it is connected to the steering box just like a standard ps box with hydro assist.

I like this project, though looking at the rust is making me a little twitchy.
I'm doing a similar rehab on my current jeep project. Minimal parts bought, using as many of the original parts as I deem are still serviceable.

Really cool build. I'm in Mass too. Maybe we can get on the trail in the spring.

Picked up another parts Jeep for this project, a 66 tux park with 4.27 axle gears. The gears will be going in this Jew along with the seats that seem to be in really nice shape. The drivers also has a slide to adjust it which is nice. I may rob a few more parts off it too.

I have been tinkering with Snowshoe here and there. The radiator is in, but I have to make some relocation brackets to finalize it. I did get the windshield wash system working. The hand pump works pretty well!

I put a 1/4" fuel filter in to keep junk out of the pump and nozzle.

Sorry for the crappy picture, but I mounted the pump and flasher switch on the dash.

And the nozzle mounted in the factory location for a 70/71 cj5.

I also installed the summit heater I got for christmas. I hooked up the ducts to the defroster and two corner ports. I just need to get some grommets and heater hose to finish that up.

Taking the axle gears out of it and maybe a few other parts for this jeep, then selling it.

The use of this heater has been covered many time in old threads. I believe it used to be called a summit mojave heater if you do a search here. I had to space the right hand mounting bracket with a piece of 1" box tubing from the fire wall. There is plenty of ducting to do the two corner ports and hook up to the stock defroster. I have a reproduction plastic defrost duct and it was just the right size.
