I bolted them on. It is a functional repair, but eventually I will redo the tub so the additional rust that may occur isn't that big of a deal to me. Besides, they look WAAAAAYYYYY better than the aluminum things the PO had. You can still see those in my avatar

    Thanks Mike!

I had about $50.00 in them because I bought the steel at TSC. I'm sure you can find it cheaper elsewhere. It didn't take long to do either. Factor out the trip to TSC and the trip to the hardware store for the paint, and it was a 3 hour job.

The black paint is high temp grill paint. I like the looks of it and figure it is more durable than the rustoleum...

Thoes look good, i added them to my list.
Did you put any sealant between the guard and the body tub to prevent water from entering and causing rust?

No I didn't. But they do bolt on so I can remove them easily enought to add a sealant.

Looks great Dennis. I like the black. The upside to black is if it's scratched
while offroading it's simple to touch up w/ a spray can.
    I like the ECJ5 sticker!!! Where can I get one??? R) R) R)

Dennis they look good, you should have used my universal mounting system on them and you would have been set ;) lol . Remeber a while back the rock panel discussion we had , you were the only one who liked my idea. Im not going to be able to make mine before tellico unless I get a unaspected day off lol

I remember.;) I even look through all of the discussions on the board to see what others have done. I'm happy with them. I can always add a 'rub-rail' to them if need be.

I got the metal to make mine just not the time :( The main diff between mine and yours I plan to use round tubing over the edge (suggested by tumbleweed) instead of channel and I planed on welding at lest 4 nuts onto the back of mine to be able to mount stuff to. Hope mine turn out as well as yours did.

We will need to break those in at Windrock since you are not coming to Tellico. ;)

I think the break-in will be at Tioga in 2 weeks:D
A few scratches maybe, but no dents ;)
    They look good Dennis!

Whats up with the brakes today? Is Speedy up on a lift somewhere?

Yes it is. I trailered it to work today. It's at the Ford dealership. There is a mechanic there that I trust completely. Can't wait to find out what the problem is. This had me stumped. Sad thing is, when it's all said and done, I'll prolly have sunk enough $ into these brakes that I could have done the disc conversion

    Stopping is overrated anyway.
