For those of you that know the intermediates from the earlys...

I have what i thought was a soft top to fit my 69.-the tan top. The black one came off the 70 i picked up in the fall. It looks like the tan top has quite a bit more angle than the black doors.

I thought the windshield raked back more starting in 1976, like your tan door shows.

to my knowledge . 76 and later the windshield leans farther back
and narrower on top . as to tops fitting

Agree with Donny and Ron, '55 to '75 tops were the same, providing the windshield is stock. Your door certainly isn't for those years.

    76?
I knew that but was thinking 72-75 for some reason.

Ok, so the tan top will be for a 76 up. Any way for it to work on mine or do i need to keep looking? The black top is pretty crusty and brittle. Doors and windows would be good probably but the top itself is toast.

Actually that explains a little. The tan door did seem to be bowed in more than the flatter black one. Thought it was just bent a little. And got the front of the top in the chanel on the windshield. Looked like it might have shrunk a little.

Keep looking is your best choice.

You'd have to use a 76-up windshield frame.

Thats what i was afraid of.

At least i have the hardware now:D

Anyone know if the side windows and tailgate section would fit between the 2? Or is it all different? This would be for the supertop

Thought id post a couple more pictures if it helps anyone in the future
The tan top is too short from side to side at the windshield

The black door fits propperly. The tan doors have too much angle so there was a gap at the top of the windshield

Piling on - tan top is for a '76 or newer.

one other note as to the later top
the top seam doesn't fit like the earlys
it has a channel that screws to top of windshield frame
