Well, no real progress this summer. I work away from home so when I get time off family comes first. I have 2 boys now, an almost 3-year-old and a 6-month-old. I am getting really antsy to get the kids on some trails so I petitioned the boss (AKA wife) and negotiated a "gap" jeep to drive while we continue with project Greased Lightning. Enter the 1995 Sahara Wrangler.

Let me be clear, I am not giving up on the build, I am just realizing the timeline is going to run longer than is practical to be down a trail rig. The idea is that I will continue to build the CJ6 the way that I had planned but I don't have to miss trail time with the boys while the build continues. This YJ has the 4.0 and a 4-inch rough country lift. no other real modifications. I am going to swap the springs out for waggy springs and a SYE kit, and just fix the little things like door handles, etc. other than that it is trail ready so I will be back on the trail even though my build isn't done.

Smart. Memories you make with the young boys will pay dividends in the future.
