Two or three of the splines/lug holes, the new lug can be slid into the hole~ not pressed, but the others are Ok, I guess I could try chamfering the lug holeI(have to look how to). I'll have to go back and read what Brennan said, but it's not related to the new stuff. It's just the old hub~ maybe just worn. I'll check it out again in the morning;) Thank you Jim!!!
    good night~ ;)

steering linkage - Copy.jpg as to steering linkage TRE's . rotate the knuckles as far a they go left and right
and your hubs . might be damaged from forcing the old lug studs out without removing the swag's first

Thanks Ron, I removed that post cause I wanted to check some things, but since your'e here, If one were to press out lug bolts without removing the swags, that could ruin the holes in the hub? but one of the hubs was ok?
I'll look at the linkage more closely and pay attention to what you said.

who knows one hub might have had studs replaced in it's life time
I would be shopping for another hub . one of the things you really don't want to happen
is try to remove a wheel and the studs just turn

Gee Ron, I didn't see the picture until now~ it didn't show up last night. I didn't realize how close the linkage is to the springs! That looks great, nice n clean;) I guess I should look to where I'm going to make or buy the linkage~ I could knock that out of the way pretty quickly.

I work on so much during the day, I kind of forget what I've accomplished ~ waiting on parts as usual~
going to spend some time with Gary, I can get lost in the garage all day. I wish Gary liked working on stuff like I do~ It's fun to make things look like new:D

I had double purchased the Dauntless decals, so this looked like a good place even though it will never be seen;)

Thanks guys for all the LIKES! Really makes my day:beer:

Last night while waiting to go to sleep (or waiting for the Lunesta to kick in), I got to thinkin that no reason not to install the engine/trans/driveshafts. They just take up floor space~ I'm terribly crazy pleased with my hard work~ or play!

Question: When ordering a fuel pump, the new pump comes with a return line, I don't remember seeing a return line going to the gas tank? a. gas from tank, b. connector to the carburetor, c. where's it go?

Gosh, I wish the headers would get here:( I hope the Novak headers fit ok.

I left the shifter unbolted; I know it would have to come back off anyway for mounting the tub, it's easy enough to remove anyways.
I suppose tomorrow I can go ahead and permanently install the Intake manifold, the valve covers I'll leave unbolted until I prime the oil pump to check for oil, and after the engine runs~ then I'll install the valve covers;)

I forget who said something about the angle of the diff relative to the transmission? I guess I wait until I have the jeep fully assembled to think about this?

I was just messin around with the new master cylinder, I think it will be much nicer than the stock dual master;)

I put a light grease in it, but I do plan to prime the pump as well, you know, with the distributor out, make a shaft to turn the oil pump with a drill.

The petroleum jelly will dissolve in the oil (good), grease... not so much :poke:
