Want to drive my fc around in the yard.
It purrs like a kitten now.
Problem: I start it, step on the pedal, cant put it in any gear. Too much grinding.
On the flip side, I put it in any gear, go to start it and the truck does not pop forward like stick vehicles do when started in gear.
Transfer case us not in neutral.

    What gives?

I’d tighten the linkage a tad and try again.

What is the recent history on the clutch? New plate, old plate, throwout??

Sounds like it is both slipping and dragging. Hung up mid-range?

No history to my knowledge. Bought it a year ago for parts, decided to get it running and drive it.

Who knows, maybe I dont like forward controls?

Just a WAG, but sounds like maybe the friction plate is deteriorated, or hanging up? Rust, fuzz, mouse nests?

If you can't see any external clues, I'd try just running it and working it vigorously and see if maybe it clears itself. What's to lose?

Well...transfer case was partially in neutral. It drives...just need to figure out throttle/gas pedal
