I saw a listing for a 43 Willys and it looks like an MB, but I see the fuel cutout on the side of the tub and its throwing me off because I thought the 41-45's fueled by folding up the front drivers seat.

Am I wrong? I'm no expert on the GPW/MB and I'm still learning. This rig has the 9 slot grill, receased headlights, no tailgate, but thats all I could see from the sellers pictures. I always thought the it was when they produced the civilian version after WW2 is when they moved the filler neck to the side?

You'r correct. The grill means nothing- too easily changed. The mb/gpw tub would have a circular raised section between the seats & tool boxes in the rear wheel boxes.

The gas filler could simply be someone needed a new tank & had a CJ2/3 one available.

Rear Tool boxes and a glove box would be good indicators of a WWII jeep You could also be looking at a 1970's era repop tub.
