Monarch Hy-lo Jack Pump

For my new Stratton project I have the crank driven pump but looking at my set up I may want to install my monarch pump to start

    From farmjeep site
Monarch HY-LO-JACK – belt driven without attached reservoir, attaches to generator with strap.

Does anybody have a picture of the set up and how this pump attaches to the generator/alternator?

I have an unused pulley on my crankshaft
I may run it directly off of that and fabricate up a different amount but I wanted to see how they were originally attached

As it says, rides piggy-back on the generator with a clamp-strap. Pretty simple. Nicely self contained reservoir/pump system.

Maybe later this weekend I can dig one out and take a picture.

Check the grove width on that second pulley, it's probably a little narrower than the water pump/genny- this was intended to drive a governor. If it's the same width it's a dual belt pulley from a M38A1.

Stock installation has a special 2 groove pulley on the genny driving the pump with a short belt.

Installation requires relocating the oil filter.

    Thank u

Mine is the hy-Lo jack (not jeep) thus it is just the pump.
I will come up with something

That is a neat setup with the quick-hitch. What is the brand?
Also missed this original post. What was the issue with your crank pump?
    Thanks

Pump just needed shaft seal and bushing. I also had to fabricate the rubber coupler that goes between the crank pulley and pump.

    hitch is a Stratton

I meant the green "quick hitch" attached to the Stratton

    Sorry!
    Deere

had it for years but only used it 2-3x w my weight box. Now there is either a backhoe or a flail mower on the tractor so the box and quick hitch are unused

Do you find the tongs better than a choker/chain? If so, how?

Asking as a guy who twitched logs with horses for years.

    Tongs are great
I don’t have to leave my seat to grab log

drop tongs on log via hydraulics and pick up

to unhook you do have to get out(drop log until slack in tongs and then move tongs off log so you don’t regrab when you lift hydraulics)

chain has uses if I need to pull up to trail if I can’t get jeep in. Of course I use the Quadractor for those logs

HAA! I had a couple of those for a while. Amazing what they can do with 10HP. And about a dozen v-belts!

Well, that was technically true with my draft horses, too. A big advantage.

When I brought one home, a belt had been flipped.

When I fired it up to drive of the back of the trailer, it drove off the front instead. Successfully! Nothing would stop it!

As you know the really super-cool part of Quadractors is the wheel knuckle - drive, suspension, traction-control and steering all in a unit.
