May be someone can tell me how to connect a mechanical oil pressure meter to a 225 v6. I have the electrical connector. It seems a big nut ( 26) but maybe there is an other plug to connect with a smaller threath.

    thanks

I don't know the 225, but from here it looks like maybe it is the type of electrical connector that slides on from the side, on to the small center terminal?

Yes that is right. I disconnected it. But I am not sure if I that is the place to connect an mechanical pressure meter

Yes the sender will thread out it has pipe thread on the end. It will leave a female pipe thread hole in the timing cover to hook the New unit to.

Sorry, missed the "mechanical" part. You also can thread in a "T" fitting and keep the option for both types.

I would imagine oil pressure sending unit thread would be 1/8th inch wouldn't it?

Probably 1/8"-NPT, but I'm not certain about the 225.

Good catch Tim, I should have said NPT to eliminate misunderstanding.

What I did on my renegade II with the oil pressure gauge but no oil pressure warning light I installed a T fitting where the sender is and added a oil pressure warning sender. Had to unwrap the wire loom and add a second wire for the oil "idiot light" . Now I have both and figure I will see that red light sooner then seeing the gauge change.Good to have both. You would think jeep would have left the oil pressure warning wire and just added the oil pressure gauge wire but that wasn't the case. mike

The reason I want to check is that at the cold start the first seconds I hear light knocking. It stops when the Red light goes off. 4-5 seconds. The light never Comes on when running. Also not at very low rpm and hot engine. In my opinion it is not a lifter. Should I Worry about that?

That is certainly a good reason to know what your actual pressure is. How many miles are on your engine? What weight oil are you using? What is the temperature in the Netherlands?

A mechanics stethoscope (or a screwdriver or wooden rod...) can be like magic to find and locate internal engine noises. Just don't stick it in the fan.

What miles is difficult to tell. I own it for 10 years now. don't know what others did to the engine. I run 20-w50 mineral oil. Tried different but this goes best. temp here is sea climat 20 degrees celcius.( so not hot) . But I first try to meassure the pressure with a good tool to find out . Is 20 psi normal for stationary?

20/50 when cold could be the reason for the initial noise on startup, might be too thick to circulate quickly. 20 psi at idle is good for a warmed up engine. Does your engine smoke, or use oil?

No oil consumption and running perfect and strong. No smoke

Correct, it is 1/8" NPT. I used a rather long nipple and tee. Top fitting is for the mechanical gauge. The electrical is a pressure switch controlling a solenoid to isolate a second battery.
