Oddfire Tachometer

Hey guys I’d like to put a tachometer in my ‘66 with a oddfire 231 but I don’t know if it will work since it is an odd fire. What day you? I found a vintage sw gauge that matches my others in the dash.

 

I have a Sunpro in mine.

 

Could I get a picture? If so much appreciated

 

Still kinda looking for some mounting ideas.

 

I have a sunpro tach mounted on the top of the steering column.

 

the tach doesn't care it's sensing an oddfire signal

 

I had a vintage sunpro and a cool Mallory tach with shift light and rpm limiter both worked fine with my dauntless I now go by sound for the engine and replaced that hole with a B-29 gyro so I can tell when the jeep is laying on it's side

 

I wanna see your B-29 gyro. Who wouldn't?

As for me, I have this inner ear liquid that tells my brain if I'm on my side.

Does it have a pedestal mount?

I specifically sought a pedestal mount tach for my column.
The tach I have can be rotated in its housing so you can 'clock' the tach in any position.

 

My oddfire 225 had an Autopro tach on it mounted to the steering column. I took it off. Had 4 wires, wire to the coil (green) power wire (red) ground wire (black) and a wire for the light (white) that’s it.

 

Yes I bought a separate pedestal mount but not sure if I like the idea. But I do t wanna cut the dash.
