Is the fuel pump made so you can disassemble it and check it out to look for the problem?

The new pump is a Carter. I tried to find an acdelco with no luck. Hope this one lasts longer than 13 months.
Heading to Barrett Lake on Friday. Bucket list trail!!

Good news. Wonder if it is better because the new pump is stronger and can pull up fuel better, or was the old pump damaged internally?

You know you can't leave until we receive an update on our son. Didn't you say he is suppose to be in Canada Friday drinking Don's beer.

A tiny speck of crud in a check valve can make a fuel pump weak.

I bought a brand new fuel pump that went bad in 2 months for my 225. Like completely bad and immediately stopped pumping fuel. All I can think of is that the pump may have been old stock and the ethanol ate it.?

He is supposed to be at the border today. I am leaving at 5:30 tomorrow morning. I am not sure what happened with the old pump but hoping this one lasts longer.

That's exactly why I run a filter pre pump and post pump. (y)

Did gas get in the oil?

I am suspicious that the old pump was not sealed well when I installed it. Would that affect the performance? The gasket was very oily when I took it off.

Not unless it was actually loose. Always a good idea to smell the oil on the dipstick to make sure no gas is present.

Not loose but the gasket was definitely oily. I'll go check now. Drove down to fill the tank and it ran great!
